Viagra and Levitra: A Comparison
Viagra and Levitra work by allowing the blood flow to the penis to increase so that an erection can occur. It is not muscle movement that causes the penis to become erect, but rather pressure from inreased blood flow to the penis. If this flow is interrupted the penis cannot achieve full erection and this leads to thei condition we know as erectile dysfunction. The arteries that bring blood flow to the penis become constricted (tighten up) due to a variety of other medical conditions. Some of the most common are cardiac disease, diabetes, depression and high cholesterol.
Levitra is often recommended for men who did not have success with Viagra.
The pharmaceutical preparation sildenafil citrate (Viagra) is being widely prescribed as a treatment for male erectile dysfunction, a common problem that in the United States affects between 10 and 30 million men. The introduction of sildenafil has been a valuable contribution to the treatment of erectile dysfunction, which is a relatively common occurrence in patients with cardiovascular disease.
